Day #6. I’m now sure it’s just a matter of deciding wether I want to keep up with it or not. There’s no addiction whatsoever driving me nuts. I’m anxious for tomorrow though, I can’t help it. Back to the day job with loads of troubles to face at the same time. And heating to be fixed at my temporary house in Daverio forcing me to sleep in the cold tonight.

These last days I’ve had the chance to read a lot, walk around with my girlfriend and shoot some really nice pictures of her (check here and here), and discover so many new things I hardly can keep up with them all.

One is worth mentioning for sure though: the Best Camera world of Chase Jarvis. This “world” is made of a book, an iPhone app (which I downloaded right away) and a simple yet effective statement: “the best camera is the one you have with you™”. Chase has published a book made of pictures taken with his iPhone while on the road and has packed his knowledge and expertise in a simple yet effective app for the Apple’s mobile device allowing the users to edit their pictures and upload them to the best camera site to be shared. More than anything else I love the idea behind the whole project, it’s really inspiring.

Today’s image is just one, probably the best, shot yesterday while walking along the Ticino river in Sesto Calende. 2010 has just begun.

It’s day #3. Stomach is my main concern now, but if I keep this up I will end up just like last time. Ok. Getting that bit of fatness that no one will notice, but will make a dramatic difference. That’s me. 2009 started off with around 70kgs. Ended with a variable weight of 62 to 64. As usual, no way. I will need someone to watch over me and keep me from giving myself up to anything (unless it’s good of course). Some sort of sphynx guarding the entrance to my subconscious, preventing the outside world from breaking in and slowly disrupting my internal balance. No riddles. Just a plain simple “WTF do you want?!”

A good old friend of mine just read yesterday’s words and immediately came up with the solution she found when her life was feeling the same as me. You’re perfectly right, that’s exactly what I want to do. But it’s not easy when everything you always did had to be put aside for whatever reason (overwhelming dayjob maybe?). I’m trying to get back to that good freelancer spirit that moved me before becoming a number on a badge. I cannot say this experience has been completely bad though, it’s just the violent reaction I was talking about… Rejection. I’m always passionate and emotional for what I do, I cannot deny that sometimes this gets in the way. But that’s the only way I know for doing things. From the heart.

Day #2 of quitting bad habits. I don’t know if I really want to though.

Last year I was too busy focusing on getting my relationship to a higher level to waste time gathering a few ideas and use them as new year’s resolutions. And not to be forgotten, I felt I was already too busy with work to propose myself anything else. I realized I was damn wrong. 2009 has brought me so down I reacted in a violent way to further pushing. The 21st Century Breakdown BJ and the guys have been talking about in one of the most anticipated albums in my entire collection. Not to talk about their awesome concert… If you’ve never been to a Green Day show, well, you’re really missing the best ROCK show EVER. Buy tickets and go now!

This said, I wanted to start with one of the resolutions I made for this year. Make good music. Last year Yari and myself started playing, writing and recording our own songs after unsuccessful attempts with old-seasoned band mates leading to even more frustration and waste of time. We have a solid workflow now and getting from the idea to a well-rounded arrangement of the song takes about 10 to 12 hours (vocals excluded). By the end of the year I want to have a complete album ready (say 13/14 songs?).

I’d like to think about it this way: right NOW I have a timetable that will prevent me from seriously putting my efforts into writing more than one night per week (resulting in extremely sleepy day-after). I want this to change. SOON.

It would be easy to use a well-known opening to this blog (such as himynameiswhatsmyname), but it would lack in the imaginative field I’m so much willing to consolidate through these pages, or posts or whatever-else-comes-around.

I’m approaching 28 years of age, still stuck at 27, not-as-proud-as-I-used-to-be day worker at the only videogame publisher entirely based in Italy, many other things wannabe. If you’re interested in a more in depth and serious profile check other pages about me, not this one. Here’s for whining or rejoicing about personal stuff and considerations on whatever comes to my mind. And pictures. And well, just about anything else. But nothing too istitutional, I think.

I have a clear plan in my mind for this place, hopefully it will develop according to that. Oh, and, by the way, this is supposed to be the first post, but it will become my own personal page as well.

I started off with a pre-designed theme as you can see. This will change, just like many other things in my life.
